Carbondale Parks, Greenways, and Outdoor Spaces for Renters

July 03, 2026 1 min read

Outdoor access is one way to get to know a new city, whether you prefer a short walk, a bike ride, or a community program. Carbondale’s Parks and Recreation division identifies city-maintained parks including Turley Park, Tatum Heights Park, Evergreen Park, Superblock, Pyles Fork Creek, Pyles Fork Park, Veterans’ Park, and Friendship Plaza. It also describes an extensive community bike-path/greenway system. City Parks and Recreation is the source to check for current information.

Use the City’s current maps, rules, and program information before you go. Trail surfaces, closures, events, and access conditions can change. If you are choosing an apartment partly for outdoor access, test the actual route from the property address rather than assuming proximity.

This is a guide to Carbondale resources, not a promise that a particular rental has a trail, park, pet feature, or bicycle storage.
